This bacterium produces toxins during sporulation that cause larval death by lysis of cells in their midgut. The pBtoxis plasmid of B. thuringiensis subsp. israelensis encodes all the mosquitocidal toxins and a number of other coding sequences. The plasmid also carries potential germination genes organised in a single ger operon. Comparison of the germination responses of spores from strains with and without pBtoxis revealed that this plasmid could promote activation of the spores under alkaline conditions but not following heat treatment. Introduction of the ger operon on a recombinant plasmid to the plasmidless strain established this operon as the first with an identified role in alkaline activation.","merchants_number":1,"ean":9783659743160,"category_id":103,"size":null,"min_price":34.10000000000000142108547152020037174224853515625,"low_price_merchant_id":1087639,"ID":4633685,"merchants":["dodax"],"brand":"undefined","slug":"germination-genes-of-bacillus-thuringiensis-subsp-israelensis","url":"\/unterhaltung\/produkt\/germination-genes-of-bacillus-thuringiensis-subsp-israelensis\/","low_price_merchant_name":null}

This bacterium produces toxins during sporulation that cause larval death by lysis of cells in their midgut. The pBtoxis plasmid of B. thuringiensis subsp. israelensis encodes all the mosquitocidal toxins and a number of other coding sequences. The plasmid also carries potential germination genes organised in a single ger operon. Comparison of the germination responses of spores from strains with and without pBtoxis revealed that this plasmid could promote activation of the spores under alkaline conditions but not following heat treatment. Introduction of the ger operon on a recombinant plasmid to the plasmidless strain established this operon as the first with an identified role in alkaline activation.","merchants_number":1,"ean":9783659743160,"category_id":103,"size":null,"min_price":34.10000000000000142108547152020037174224853515625,"low_price_merchant_id":1087639,"ID":4633685,"merchants":["dodax"],"brand":"undefined","slug":"germination-genes-of-bacillus-thuringiensis-subsp-israelensis","url":"\/unterhaltung\/produkt\/germination-genes-of-bacillus-thuringiensis-subsp-israelensis\/","low_price_merchant_name":null}

Following mosquito species were found: Ae. aegypti, Ae. scapularis, Ae. serratus, An. albimanus, An. pseudopunctipennis, Cx. nigripalpus and Cx. pipiens quinquefasciatus. Two comparative residual effect tests with Bti-based Culinex Tab plus\u00ae and Temephos-based Temefar\u00ae 1%G were performed in large and small water volumes under laboratory conditions. In the tests with large water volumes, Temefar\u00ae 1%G and Culinex Tab plus\u00ae showed a residual effect of 9 weeks (100% and 75% mortality, respectively), and, in tests with small water volumes, a residual effect of 7 weeks (100% mortality for both larvicides). Three efficacy tests performed with Culinex Tab plus\u00ae at three houses in Chulucanas city under field conditions showed 100% mortality after 24 h of larvicide application. In connection with this tests, an adult person living in each house was interviewed regarding Bti- and Temephos-based larvicides, the present vector control program and community participation. Considering these interviews, a personal testimonial, other statistical social data such as poverty levels, socioeconomic indicators and one survey concerning approval of the present vector control program, it is concluded that lack of knowledge of handling with larvicides and low acceptation regarding present vector control activities may be the main causes for the dengue outbreak in June, 2008.","merchants_number":1,"ean":9783640211432,"category_id":1,"size":null,"min_price":14.9000000000000003552713678800500929355621337890625,"low_price_merchant_id":70254503,"ID":10271674,"merchants":["orell-fuessli"],"brand":"GRIN","slug":"culicidae-fauna-biological-control-of-dengue-vectors-and-com-1","url":"\/produkt\/culicidae-fauna-biological-control-of-dengue-vectors-and-com-1\/","low_price_merchant_name":"Orell F\u00fcssli"}
